Hello, friends and fans of the Support blog! You might have noticed our extended absence (or maybe not). That’s because we’ve been hard at work to bring you a fantastic new training experience that you can access right from Composer! 

If you joined us for Finalsite University in Orlando last week, you heard our CEO Jon Moser announce the new Finalsite Training, and I’m happy to be able to tell you more about it. We’ve got courses and webinars covering Composer and all of its modules, everything you need to get up to speed with Finalsite products.

Even if you’re not a new admin in need of training, you’ll still want to check out Finalsite Training for our upcoming webinars on topics like the mobile app and push notifications, inbound marketing, advanced techniques, and more. Later this year, you’ll also be able to prove your expertise with our Finalsite Certification.

To log in, just go to the Finalsite Training link in your Composer far-left navigation (it’s under the Support bubble). All of our courses and webinars are free!

We know everyone doesn’t learn in the same way, so we’ve created several different ways to engage with training materials. Most of our content is organized into courses, but you can also listen to our pre-recorded webinars, or even join us for some live webinars on advanced and specialized topics.

Follow learning paths

Just like the yellow brick road, if you’re not sure where to go next, we’ve got a path for you to follow. Check out our New Administrators learning path if you’re brand new to Finalsite and not sure where to start. Or choose your own adventure! It’s up to you.

Use your phone or tablet to learn

Everyone is always on the move these days, and now you can take Finalsite Training with you! Whether you’re squeezing in some training during your commute or you just want to follow along on your website in real time, get all of our content optimized for smaller screens as well as your desktop. 

Don't Just Stare - Interact!

Interact with course content

Training can be a drag when you’re passively watching a video or reading an article. Finalsite Training includes lots of ways for you to interact with the content. 

• On a video page, click the closed caption icon in the player and select “Search Video” to jump to the content that’s most relevant or something you missed.

• On a “List Roll” type page, click the “Expand” link to open each panel and learn more about a topic.

• Some of our pages have interactive hotspots and buttons you can click to home in on a specific part of the screen. Click the “+” and “i” icons wherever you see them to get more details.

• Finally, you’ll flip for our “Flip Card” pages! Click on each card to reverse it and read the information on the back. 

Try out new skills

Once you’ve gone through the course materials, each course has a Try It Yourself section, where you can follow the steps to implement what you’ve learned on your own website. Because the best way to learn is by doing!

Get More out of Training

Bookmark a page

If you learn something invaluable and want to make sure you see it again, feel free to bookmark individual pages of each course using the icon in the top-right corner. You can add notes and even create folders for your bookmarks, which will then be available on your Finalsite Training dashboard.

Use the Notes section

Each course also has a section for taking notes, where you can keep track of important details that you learn without leaving the course interface. Assign your note to a specific section of the course, and once you’re finished, print (or PDF) your notes to save for later reference.

Test your knowledge

Put your newly acquired knowledge to the test with the Knowledge Check at the end of each course. Find out if you make the grade!

See your progress

It’s easy to lose track of how far you’ve come, so your Finalsite Training dashboard keeps track of all the vital stats -- including which courses you’ve started, which ones you’ve completed, even how long you’ve spent on learning each day! 

Earn badges

It’s important to celebrate your accomplishments along the way, and Finalsite Training includes badges to mark your progress. Can you earn them all?
